Welcome Jill Sarick Santos and Jennifer Eggersten to our new Board Members,

We are pleased to introduce Jill Sarick Santos and Jennifer Eggersten, our two new board members. We look forward to working with these two inspiring women.

Jill Sarick Santos has been in environmental education and outreach for the last two decades. Originally from north central Pennsylvania, Jill has a degree in Parks and Recreation and about to complete her master’s degree in Resilient and Sustainable Communities. Among other accomplishments, she created the first water conservation rebate program; implemented a successful food waste-composting program, and developed k-12 STEM curriculum and service-learning activities while working for the City of Ventura as an Environmental Specialist. Jill is now working for Food Forward as the Branch Manager since July of 2016 and joined the MERITO Foundation Board in January 2017.

Jennifer Eggersten is the International Student Advisor, Designated School Official of Santa Barbara City College. Jennifer holds a B.A. in cultural anthropology from California State University, Chico. She has traveled to Mexico and Costa Rica, and Belize for Earth watch research trip on the barrier reef. She is currently in an. M.S. program for resilient and sustainable communities at Green Mountain College. She joined the MERITO Foundation Board in January 2017.
